Individual.com's history goes all the way back to April 10, 1995 when it began as a paid subscription service. In February 1998, Individual became part of the NewsEdge Corporation. One year later, in February 1999, NewsPage.com was spun off as a separate entity and in May 1999, it changed its subscription business model to an advertising and ecommerce model.

As its popularity soared, the company re-launched its Website in October 1999, under the name Individual.com. In February 2000, this Internet pioneer was purchased by Winstar Communications, a telecommunication company, as part of its effort to target small businesses. The Website was operated by Winstar, ultimately ceasing operations in 2001 after Winstar declared bankruptcy.

Office.com LLC obtained the rights to Individual.com in September 2002 and spent a year planning and executing its return. In September 2003, Individual.com was re-launched! Individual.com is an Office.com, LLC Company. The new site is dedicated to all of individuals who have given so much of their time and effort to this Website.
